Jamaraquà Necklace

The Jamaraquá necklace is a biojewelry made with latex from the seringueira tree and morototó seeds collected throughout the community.
The work of managing rubber trees for artisanal rubber extraction is one of the activities carried out by the men of the community. Latex is made into rubber sheets that are dyed and cut for use in jewelry making. All steps, from handling to natural drying, are performed by community residents following the traditional techniques of producing a natural rubber coat from the Amazon.
