Beads have a long history of contact with indigenous people. Initially used as a trading commodity and bond with these peoples, Kayapó women gradually appropriated the beauty of these beads by replacing other natural raw materials such as seeds, feathers, coconuts and woven straw.
With two nylon threads, beads and ancestral wisdom, Kayapó artisans weave incredible, unique and exclusive handmade jewelry that brings all the beauty of the forest into the traditional graphics of the Mebengokrè people.
